Second Class Now Forming
new class for elul: Building an inner refuge
We all long for safety in a world that is profoundly not safe. Spiritual leaders from many traditions point to the possibility of creating an inner refuge in which we can rest, feel nourished and be at ease. Perhaps this is one of the things the Chasidic masters were pointing to when they read the verse, “Build Me a sanctuary and I will dwell within them” as meaning “I will dwell within each and every one of them.” If we build it, the Divine Source of Peace will come.
But how do we build it? In this class, we will explore what it means to build a dwelling place for the Source of Peace within ourselves as a way of feeling safer in the world. We will explore four texts associated with the High Holy Days and experiment with how their imagery can help us feel more at ease. We will engage in a guided practice of building an inner refuge and support one another in that practice.
This class includes:
Four hour-long sessions held via Zoom (August 26 and September 2, 9, & 15) at 12:00 PM ET. Please note the first three classes are on a Tuesday and the final class is a Monday.
The texts of four passages from the High Holy Day liturgy in English and Hebrew.
A guided practice building on these texts to help build an inner refuge.
The opportunity to connect and explore with other wonderful people!
All classes will be recorded and sent out after the session.
Cost: $125 for all four sessions.

I love teaching, whether it is a course, a scholar-in-residence opportunity, or one-on-one classes. My goal is to give you tools from the Jewish tradition to help you connect with your own innate spiritual wisdom. Some of my favorite topics include the teachings of R. Nahman of Breslov, Psalms, Jewish emotional wisdom, and other gems from our tradition.
